QA1’s rebuildable Q Series twin tube shocks offer the performance, consistency, and tunability racers demand.
QA1 now offers 5Q Series in six packs of “dry” shocks. These include parts to build six new shocks and offer a cost-effective way to use custom valvings. The packs include gas bags, seal packs, pistons, piston rods, and more.
Note: Six packs DO NOT include bleed shims and will require the appropriate tuning kit to build your shocks. Don’t forget to grab a closure nut wrench and QA1 SF16 shock oil.
QA1’s rebuildable twin tube shocks deliver performance, consistency, and tunability. Formerly known as 51 and 53 series shocks, the 5Q Series is a large body shock available in both bearing mount and stock mount configurations. Racers can choose from 7” and 9” bearing mount bodies or various stock mounted lengths depending on rules and applications.
5Q shocks can be re-valved and rebuilt by racers in a matter of minutes using basic tools. Two-piece bodies make it simple to disassemble and reassemble shocks. The gland features relief cuts and a hyper screw port, making shocks easy to fill and bleed on assembly. An upgraded seal kit minimizes leaks—especially in high-rebound applications—while the compression tube uses a slip-fit design to simplify the rebuild process.
Small design details deliver big performance benefits:
- Black zinc coating provides a consistent finish and tight seal every time
- Scalloped base loop increases clearance in tight areas like upper control arms and shock mounts
- Pistons made from high-quality raw aluminum reduce variation vs. anodized parts
- Shock valving can be tuned with bleed shims or by drilling bleeds
5Q shocks utilize a laser-engraved, black-anodized closure nut, making serial numbers and valving information easy to read at the track or in the shop.
QA1’s steel body shocks can be used in coil-over configurations with the appropriate kits (sold separately). Racers can rebuild and re-valve their own shocks using available tuning and rebuild kits.
