Description
QA1’s rebuildable Q Series twin tube shocks offer the performance, consistency, and tunability racers demand.
QA1 now offers the QA1 5Q Series in six packs of “dry” shocks. These packs include parts to build six new shocks and offer a cost-effective way to use custom valvings. Included are gas bags, seal packs, pistons, piston rods, and more.
Note: Six packs DO NOT include bleed shims and will require the appropriate tuning kit to build your shocks. Don’t forget to grab a closure nut wrench and QA1 SF16 shock oil.
Formerly known as the 51 and 53 series shocks, the QA1 5Q Series is a large-body shock available in both bearing mount and stock mount configurations. Racers can choose from 7” and 9” bearing mount bodies or various stock mounted lengths depending on rules and applications.
QA1 5Q shocks can be re-valved and rebuilt by racers in a matter of minutes using basic tools. Two-piece bodies make disassembly and reassembly simple. The gland features relief cuts and a hyper screw port, making shocks easy to fill and bleed during assembly. An upgraded seal kit minimizes leaks—especially in high-rebound applications—while the compression tube uses a slip fit design for easier rebuilding.
Small performance-focused details include:
- Black zinc coating for consistent sealing
- Scalloped base loop for increased clearance in tight areas like upper control arms and shock mounts
- High-quality raw aluminum pistons for minimal variation
- Valve options using bleed shims or drilled bleeds for tunability
QA1 5Q shocks feature a laser-engraved, black-anodized closure nut for easy readability of serial numbers and valving at the track or in the shop.
QA1’s steel body shocks can be used in coil-over configurations with the appropriate kits (sold separately). Racers can rebuild and re-valve their own shocks using available tuning and rebuild kits.
